OUR APPROACH
At THRiVE Coaching, our approach is anchored in evidence-based models that cultivate growth, resilience, and meaningful transformation. We believe that thriving, both personally and organizationally, begins with understanding the systems that shape our behaviors, decisions, and relationships. By drawing from three complementary frameworks, the Strengths Model, the CYNEFIN Framework, and the Heart and Soul of Change, we provide a holistic and adaptable foundation for coaching.
Each of these models offers unique insights into the human experience. Together, they create a dynamic roadmap for growth that honors individual strengths, navigates uncertainty, and places human connection at the heart of sustainable change.
Strengths Model
The Strengths Model is built on a simple yet transformative principle: people grow most when they focus on developing their natural talents rather than fixing their weaknesses. By identifying what energizes and motivates you, this model encourages a proactive and empowering path to success.
In practice, the Strengths Model helps clients gain deeper self-awareness and confidence by uncovering their core capabilities—whether that’s creativity, strategic thinking, empathy, or adaptability. Coaching through this model involves aligning your daily actions and professional goals with what you naturally do best, ultimately fostering higher engagement, productivity, and personal fulfillment.
At THRiVE Coaching, we guide individuals and teams in discovering their strengths through reflective exercises, validated assessments, and feedback loops. This creates a culture of appreciation and trust—one that celebrates uniqueness and leverages diverse talents to achieve collective success.
CYNEFIN Framework
The CYNEFIN Framework (pronounced kuh-NEV-in) is a powerful sense-making tool designed to help individuals and leaders navigate complexity and uncertainty. Originating from systems thinking, it categorizes situations into five distinct domains—Clear, Complicated, Complex, Chaotic, and Aporetic (Confused)—each requiring different approaches to decision-making and problem-solving.
In Clear contexts, cause and effect are well understood, and best practices can be applied.
Complicated situations involve multiple variables, where expert analysis and good practices are needed.
Complex domains require experimentation, adaptability, and openness to emerging patterns.
Chaotic circumstances demand quick action to establish order before analysis.
The Aporetic (or Confused) space invites reflection when situations don’t yet fit neatly into any category.
By applying the CYNEFIN Framework, THRiVE Coaching helps clients make better decisions in times of change—whether they’re leading teams, navigating career transitions, or managing organizational challenges. This model cultivates resilience and discernment, empowering leaders to respond with clarity even amidst ambiguity.
Heart and Soul of Change
The Heart and Soul of Change model centers on the idea that transformation is deeply relational. Rooted in psychotherapy research, it reveals that the most significant factors driving successful change are not specific techniques or tools, but rather the quality of the relationship between the client and the coach, the client’s own strengths, and their sense of hope.
This model emphasizes four core elements that lead to effective outcomes:
Client Factors: Personal strengths, motivation, and life circumstances.
Relationship Factors: Trust, empathy, and genuine collaboration between client and coach.
Hope and Expectancy: The belief that positive change is possible.
Techniques and Methods: The structured approaches that support the process.
At THRiVE Coaching, we embody this philosophy by creating a safe, compassionate space where authenticity, trust, and empowerment thrive. Every coaching session is tailored to the individual, recognizing that meaningful change happens when people feel heard, supported, and inspired.
